Certificate in Restorative Justice (delivered online)
Oct 03, 2011
From Simon Fraser University's website:
An idea with deep roots in Aboriginal and many faith-based communities, restorative justice is enjoying a resurgence. While holding offenders responsible for repairing the damage they have done, it takes a community-minded approach to managing criminal and other conflict. The Certificate in Restorative Justice introduces you to the philosophy behind this powerful concept. Moving beyond theory, it also examines restorative practices such as mediation, conferencing, and circles, and how to use these methods in conflict situations and community development.
The Certificate in Restorative Justice consists of three interrelated 13-week courses that you complete sequentially. All courses are delivered online.
Certificate students must complete the following 3 required courses:
- CRJ315 Introduction to Restorative Justice: Concepts, Theory, and Philosophy
- CRJ442 Restorative Justice Process Models: Applications
- CRJ445 Community Development Through Restorative Justice
