This paper examines the results of an internal and external evaluation process of the Queensland community conferencing pilot programs. It specifically presents a commentary on the internal evaluation report of the Juvenile Justice Program of the Department of Families, Youth and Community Care. The paper includes an overview of the community conferencing pilots, and a summary of the evaluation report findings and recommendations. Commentary on the report covers key stakeholders, empirical analysis, unanswered questions, and conferencing in relation to questions of the most restorative outcomes for all involved in and affected by a crime.
