This chapter develops a theology of peacebuilding around five touchstones: evil, creation, salvation in Christ, the Trinity, and church. Of special importance throughout is a corporate and active understanding of sin, salvation, and Christian identity. Peacebuilding is a corporate activity of the church in society, an activity that shares in Christ's atoning and reconciling work, and hopes to restore the goodness of creation. (excerpt)
