The University of Saskatchewan, College of Law and the Indigenous Peoples and Justice Programs agreed to the organization of a conference entitled "Aboriginal People & the Criminal Justice System in Saskatchewan: What Next?." The Conference was held January 26 through 28, 2005, at the Delta Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon. This article is a summary of both the Conference and the background and work of the commissions. It attempts to identify the main points made by Conference participants, who have had the opportunity to review the article. In some cases, the participants offered their own notes by way of summary; these have generally been adopted and altered as little as possible. (excerpt)
