A theologian and a native of Croatia now teaching and writing in the United States, Miroslav Volf was invited to be one of the principal speakers at Prison Fellowship International’s worldwide convocation held in Sophia, Bulgaria, in 1999. In this address to the participants, he focuses on the theme of reconciliation between people in strife with each other. Specifically, he explores reconciliation, grace, justice, mercy, and healed relationships from a Christian perspective. Using examples from actual situations – such as recent conflict and violence in Yugoslavia – he looks at how one works toward reconciliation between victims and perpetrators.
