In 1983 the Oklahoma State Legislature passed the Non-Violent Intermediate Offender and 120 Day Judicial Review Acts that required the Oklahoma Department of Corrections to develop treatment plans for specified categories of offenders. One aspect of the Specialized Offender Accountability Plans developed in response to the measures was a victim-offender mediation program. The present report summarizes the results of mediated case plans occurring since implementation of the mediation process in March 1984 through August 1985.
