Young offenders have various backgrounds and experiences that have led them to become in conflict with the law. Caseworkers, community members and staff active with the Community Justice Society (CJS) in Halifax Nova Scotia, have determined through the Restorative Justice process that poor anger management can be one of the root causes attributed to a young person’s conflict with the law. This study was developed in partnership with staff from the Community Justice Society in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The study involved an active survey of the perspectives of several stakeholders within the organization including youth, caseworkers and facilitators. The project analyzes their responses and offers a number of recommendations. The most substantial findings of this study include recommendations from the caseworkers to consider anti-violence training and conflict management training as additional options available to youth in conflict with the law.
