Sergeant Francis describes the use of community conferencing in Queensland. After referencing the legislative basis for the conferencing, Francis describes the process. Once a juvenile has been referred to conference and the victim agrees to the measure, each party is contacted to learn about the process. Francis outlines the conference format and what usually takes place. He ends by stating that conferences are “a win-win situation for both victim and offenderâ€?.
