The mission of the Thames Valley Partnership is to promote and strengthen partnerships to reduce crime and the fear of crime. The Partnership produced this collection of papers in recognition of the fact that the themes of community safety, citizenship, and social inclusion are playing an increasing role in society, and to celebrate the first five years of the work of the Partnership. The collection consists of contributions from individuals in the public, private, and government sectors who have worked with and influenced the Partnership in its formative years. The various papers cover a number of pertinent topics: crime, citizenship, and public service; community safety and criminal justice; social justice and social responsibility; what it takes to change public policy; community partnerships with the business sector; and social inclusion and neighborhood renewal.
