Len Wildman and Tom Dwyer work for the Rochester Police Department in Rochester, New York, USA. Wildman is the manager of the Family and Victims Services section, and Dwyer is the coordinator of that section’s Juvenile Accountability Conferencing (JAC) program. Laura Mirsky interviewed them in August 2002 at the Third International Conference on Conferencing, Circles and Other Restorative Practices, a conference conducted by the International Institute for Restorative Practices. The interview covers the integration of conferencing into the police department, the kinds of offenses dealt with in the JAC program, and the potential for expansion of restorative practices throughout the police department and in schools.
