Lynch.Through his contacts as a Neighborhood Watch captain, and as a mediator with Ada County (Idaho) Juvenile Court Services, David Lynch engaged in a research project at the Idaho State Correctional Institution, in coordination with the in-prison program D.E.T.O.U.R. (Determined to Educate and Teach Offending Juveniles Prison Awareness). This document is a report on a presentation he conducted with inmates involved in D.E.T.O.U.R. to explain restorative justice theory and practice as foundations for work with juvenile and adult offenders. He summarizes restorative justice principles and roots, and records some of the reactions of inmates to the ideas and aims of restorative justice.
