Sitting behind closed doors and working on your own development, taking responsibility for the consequences of your own actions and where possible restoring the damage that has been done. That’s what’s happening in the closed youth facility “De Heuvelrug, location Eikenstein”, located in Zeist, The Netherlands. The experiment is called: ‘Herstelopvoeding’, in translation: Developing restorative skills for juvenile delinquents. The first results are promising, and the method is being further developed.
