As part of a set of materials on restorative justice, developed in connection with a worldwide observation of Restorative Justice Week, the Correctional Service Canada provides this basic resource kit. It is a tool for people who want to understand restorative justice better and promote restorative justice in their communities. The sections of the manual are organized into the following subjects: understanding restorative justice (the need for restorative justice, basic ideas, models or practices of restorative justice; indicators of restorative justice); mobilizing a community (actions that can be taken to promote restorative justice); resources for communications (public service announcements, news releases, question and answer sheets, fact sheets); resources for youth and children (e.g., role-playing); people and organizations with additional resources; and print, audio-video, and Internet resources.
