Family Group Conferencing offers a means of dealing with young first-time offenders in a setting where they are surrounded by family and community supporters as they face their victims and assume responsibility for their actions and the harm that has been done. While the FGC model has been adopted in several nationas and a variety of communities, this study was done to consider the implementation of a pilot program in the country of Saudi Arabia. An analysis of Saudi culture, family structure, and the legal system will offer important insights into the possibility of adapting the FGC concept to fit within the Saudi Arabian juvenile justice system.
