Pointing out that contemporary discourse on forgiveness roots in both theology and psychology, Lamb reflects on our personal and public ideas of forgiveness. Her inquiry starts with a survey of definitions of forgiveness. This leads to consideration of forgiveness in relation to key issues: virtue; apologizing; mental health; and anger. Additionally, attention is given to Christian notions of forgiveness, women and forgiveness, forgiveness as a relational transaction, and forgiveness in relation to resolution.
