As indicated at the beginning of this article, there has been considerable support for restorative justice in New Zealand. The government, for example, has pledged funds over a three-year period to develop new restorative justice projects, as well as to expand some existing restorative justice programs. To support this initiative, the Te Matahauariki Research Institute here announces the decision to draft a practical guide to restorative justice. The guide will include an overview of restorative justice, an explanation of the legal process, key contacts, useful readings, and examples of restorative justice.
