The position of restorative justice co-ordinator for the Hamilton District Court has been filled by Marianne Lammers who holds a Masters in counselling and a doctoral degree in psychology. Her background includes work with psycho-educational men’s groups and serving as a student services counsellor, tutor, and lecturer while at university. Marianne’s negative views of the punitive prison system prompted her to apply for the position. In her opinion, restorative justice brings 'heaps of potential to improve on the system' from where it is currently.
