Police commander, Alan Stuart, draws a parallel between church-centered youth programs and the reduction of juvenile crime. Stuart relates his experiences regarding the inter-faith effort of 19 local churches in providing programs which empower the community youth and offer a teen center for healthy socialization. Additionally, the role of the churches expanded to include their prayers for specific community concerns. Stuart reports that crime has been drastically reduced in areas where prayer requests were made to improve conditions. In the future, the church programs will involve parenting classes in accordance with Biblical teaching.
