As Kathryn McCormick reports for the Episcopal News Service, nearly eighty men and women who are prison chaplains gathered in Indianapolis, Indiana, in May 2000 to learn how they might help the church look at crime and punishment in a new way, namely, restorative justice. McCormick identifies highlights of the conference for participants. She also explains key ideas and principles of restorative justice as presented by an expert in criminal justice who addressed the conference.
