Umbreit contends that the way restorative justice processes are conducted is key to the degree to which such interventions are experienced as restorative by victims and offenders. The quality of intervention processes can be viewed then in terms of a continuum from least restorative to most restorative in impact. To assist with seeking quality in the way various interventions are conducted, Umbreit provides a chart identifying indicators along such a continuum.
