Lerman relates the case of an act of vandalism against a synagogue and the adjudication of the case. A victim offender reconciliation meeting occurred between the offenders and the members of the synagogue. From this, Lerman considers restorative justice in relation to Jewish theology and law. He concludes that principles of restorative justice are firmly rooted in Jewish law and tradition.
