This article offers a proposal about how to develop Restorative Justice approaches within Scottish Children’s Hearing system. The proposal is that the Children’s Hearing itself should be the locus for the restorative process. All those with a stake or responsibility for deciding the outcome would be involved in the Hearing. This approach draws on the model of Canadian Sentencing Circles and Youth Justice Committees, as well as on the model of Family Group Conferences. The model is referred to as the Restorative Justice Conference model.
