In the context of the project "Developing standards for assistance to victims of terrorism,: promoted by the European Forum for Restorative Justice, and co-financed by the European Commission, the question of the potential of restorative justice (RJ) in cases of terrorism was assessed amongst others. The project ran from March 2007 until June 2008 in partnership with the International Victimology Institute Tilburg, the Catholic University of Leuven, the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence at the University of St. Andrews and Victim Support the Netherlands. The project focused particularly on developing standards in the fields of continuing assistance, access to justice, administration of justice, compensation and RJ, explored from the victim's perspective.
