The Restorative Justice Centre is a registered nonprofit organization in South Africa which is focused on promoting the concept of restorative justice and demonstrating the application of restorative justice. In this submission to the South African Law Commission, Ms. Dudu Setlatjile presents the Centre’s arguments for basing the Child Justice Bill in restorative justice. She sketches principles of restorative justice, connects them with African culture and values, and recommends specific ways to incorporate restorative justice ideas and language into the bill.
