Shelley Trevethan is a researcher in Correctional Services Canada. Andrew McWhinnie works with Victoria Parole in British Columbia, Canada. They report on a project by Victoria Parole to demonstrate the applicability of restorative justice principles with offenders who have reached the end of the system, so to speak. Specifically, the objectives of "Restorative Justice Option to Parole Suspension" are to test and evaluate the use of family and community group conferences for offenders facing possible parole suspension. Trevethan and McWhinnie describe the project and the method that will be employed for evaluating it.
