In this article Bellard reports on restorative justice projects of the Mediation Network of North Carolina. These projects include the development of a partnership of mediation centers and adult community corrections programs. It centers on training in victim-offender mediation and provision of mediation services. The Network’s projects also involve an alliance of mediation centers and community representatives to address juvenile crime. This initiative is designed along the lines of the Balanced and Restorative Justice model (as developed by Bazemore and Umbreit).
