As restorative justice ideas and practices continue to be developed and promoted, many advocates are pursuing new areas and ways in which to apply those ideas and practices. In this vein, Terry O’Connell examines in this paper the challenge of creating restorative organizations. He argues that the sustainability of restorative practice beyond the program phase requires fundamental change in organizational cultures. That is, there must be an alignment between an organization’s philosophy, values, and practices, and those of the restorative programs it seeks to foster.
