This article provides information of different types of mediation programs available to those who are seeking conflict resolution. One such mediation program is called transformative mediation, which “emphasises empowerment and recognition to enable problem-solving to take place.â€? Both parties are able to communicate their thoughts and feelings about the conflict through a given mediator. Proponents of transformative mediation believe that resolutions are met and changes are made through this type of mediation. An example of a transformative mediation program are victim-offender and community-based mediation programs.
