In the summer of 1999 a shocking set of crimes in Aspen, Colorado, prompted a remarkable community and justice system response, according to Kim Wille. The Rocky Mountain Community Partnership and the Mid-Valley Community Accountability Board grew out of this response. The aims are a more balanced and responsive form of justice for victims, community members, and offenders. The emphases are healing and wholeness for the community. Wille describes how the partnership developed, the framework and processes for responding to crime, and members of the partnership.
