Source: (2003) Te Ara Whakatika: Newsletter of the court-referred restorative justice project. December. Issue 13. Downloaded 11 June 2004.Seeking Solutions, a court review printed by the Law Commission, includes a section entitled âVoicesâ?, which contains submissions on restorative justice from the public. The paper presents restorative justice in a positive light, saying that the process allows victims to have a larger say and allows communities to find a âmore positive resolution to crime.â? The differing cultural opinions, including the Maori, were also addressed in the paper. It is suggested that minorities may respond best to family group conferencing because these programs are flexible and culturally accommodating.
