Downloaded 29 January 2004.Jo Saunders is the Social Responsibility Officer for the Diocese of Oxford (Church of England) and a trustee of the Thames Valley Partnership. She begins this article from the perspective that the church brings to bear the belief that social justice and social responsibility should be put into practice in everyday life among all people. In other words, the church witnesses to the commitment that as a community we have a corporate responsibility to promote an environment where all can live in safety, benefit from community life, and contribute to the well being of all. On this basis, Saunders discusses social justice, social responsibility, and restorative justice as a perspective that brings together justice and responsibility.
