The various restorative processes referred to in the following guidelines include restorative empathic listening; restorative discussion; mediation (peer and adult -led), problem-solving circles, restorative conferencing and family group conferencing (FGC). A restorative school may have some or all of these in place, or be working towards developing some or all of these processes. Relationship and community building processes are also referred to in the context of proactive initiatives that schools can take to pre-empt anti-social and/or offending behaviour. (excerpt).
