The research objectives are to

  1. Determine whether or not the restorative justice concept can be acceptable to women as a feasible alternative criminal justice response to sexual violence
  2. Collect empirical evidence to substantiate the positive claims of proponents and the negative concerns of critics held in relation to the use of restorative practices in handling sexual violence cases
  3. Use the empirical findings on participants’ perspectives to identify potential problems and tensions that may emerge in applying restorative justice in this area.
 
As a part of her research, she has put together a survey for women between the ages of 18 and 45 asking their thoughts on restorative processes in response to sexual violence.
