This report is based on an evaluation of 46 restorative justice projects which were funded by the Youth Justice Board (the Board). The data are based on the final reports submitted by the independent local evaluator for each project. The main areas covered in this report include a description of the projects and of the characteristics of the young people on these projects, a discussion of the implementation problems which staff in the projects have faced, and an assessment of the outcomes of the restorative interventions in terms of completion rates, reconviction and feedback from participants. The report concludes with the main lessons which have emerged for evaluation and implementation of restorative justice projects. (excerpt)
