Joemela Simeon describes a juvenile justice project in Vanuatu. The project's goal is to avoid incarceration of young offenders through the use of traditional approaches. One question to be answered is the applicability of customary law in the contemporary setting. The project seeks to include a wide range stakholders including the government, the judiciary, traditional leaders, women and youth representatives, Churches ad NGOs.
