In this presentation during Restorative Justice Week, Alma Norman chronicles her transformation from a “softâ€? supporter of law and order to a committed advocate of restorative justice. The journey began with her deep questioning of incarceration after a visit to Jewish inmates in Canada’s federal correctional facility for women. She then became aware of how Jewish beliefs and traditions could support reform of the criminal justice system. The major portion of her address explains the connections she sees between Jewish values, restorative justice, and criminal justice reform.
