When the Sycamore Tree Project®, developed by Prison Fellowship International, was adapted in Rwanda, Africa it became the Umuvumu Tree Project. While the Sycamore Tree Project® has been used to reconcile offenders and victims in ordinary crime situations in the United States, New Zealand, England and other countries, the Umuvumu Tree Project has been a tool for national healing in genocide traumatized Rwanda.
