In this article, Cristin Monti Evans reports that balanced and restorative justice ideas (BARJ) are being applied in a variety of victims’ advocacy initiatives throughout Illinois. Initiatives using BARJ philosophy include anger management courses, peer juries, and mediation programs. To illustrate, Evans focuses on specific and concrete ways BARJ philosophy informs programs run by the Bloom Township (Cook County) Youth and Family Services Department.
