The third national restitution and community service symposium, held in 1979, provided a forum for exploration of research on monetary restitution and community service sanctions for both adult and juvenile offenders. This volume contains selected papers from the symposium. The themes of the five major sections of the book are restitution theory, restitution and public policy, attitudes toward restitution, victim perspectives, and legal issues. A concluding chapter by the editors presents a review of currently available restitution and community service research.
