As Anne Seymour states, restorative justice aims to balance the interests and rights of victims, offenders, and the community. To the extent that “communityâ€? refers to the relationships and connections people have with each other, it does not always indicate a geographical neighborhood. A correctional facility is in this relational or connectional sense a community. Seymour explores a restorative justice response to staff victimization within the corrections community. In particular, she proposes guidelines for responding to victims of crimes committed within a correctional setting.
