Many people are unhappy with the judicial processes. There is extreme divergence of opinion as to what is wrong and how to fix it. Many believe the law is too easy. They have sought to enact more restrictive laws, to increase enforcement efforts, to maximize punishments, and to reduce or eliminate education, recreation, family contacts, and parole consideration for prisoners. In contrast, a new consensus is emerging to support a still unclear concept known as “Restorative Justice” which sounds like an effort to provide better remedies for victims than the criminal law ever has. This is what gives it its appeal.
Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
