This report presents the strategy used by the Yukon government to inform communities about the use of restorative justice. The report briefly explains why the current justice system does not work and the changes that restorative justice would initiate. It defines restorative justice, its benefits for victims, offenders, and the community, and the justice system. The report also lists community concerns and questions. These range from a strictly First Nations view of the processes to the idea that crime deserves stiffer punishment.
