Revised version of a paper presented in 1994. The original paper proposed the use of community conferencing in schools in response to the sort of incidents that were otherwise being addressed with inappropriate suspension and exclusion policies. This revised version provides slightly less theory than the original, but updates the original with a brief description of the rapid and successful spread of the practice of community conferencing in Australian and North American schools, particularly through the Real Justice program.
