The author presents the eleven principles of restorative justice and a 38 item measurement “yardstick” to measure restorative justice, presented as a 5 point continuum. A diagram of a restorative justice system is presented where victims receive supportive responses, offenders receive coercive/supportive response, and both engage in a cooperative response, leading to accountability and four goals of a restorative justice system 1) injuries healed, 2) individuals & relationships restored, 3) trust grows, and 4) long-term safety ensues.
