Reichwald, a practitioner in the field of victim-offender mediation in Minnesota, poses certain basic questions concerning mediation. What constitutes success in mediation? How many times should an offender be permitted to participate in mediation? To explore these questions, she looks at two mediations between a victim and her offender. Based on her experience mediating these two processes, Reichwald concludes that she would place no limits on the number of times an offender could participate in mediation, and that participant satisfaction is the final determinant for defining success.
