Growing out of a day-long workshop in June 2001 hosted by the Institute, this report surveys approaches to international peacebuilding by faith-based NGOs and key issues faced by those organizations. Peacebuilding methods used by these NGOs include training, conflict prevention, mediation, nonviolent methodologies, interfaith dialogue and reconciliation, development assistance, and peace education in the United States. Attention is given to the role of faith in their efforts and to their connections with secular organizations.
