Blough asserts that peace and peacemaking are main elements of the biblical understanding of salvation. He further asserts that the biblical narrative of peace explicitly unfolds in response to the Tower of Babel (“the first story of globalization,â€? or rather, the story of the beginnings of the impulses toward globalization) and the calling of Abraham. Blough then discusses the notion of the peace of Christ in light of the Babel-Abraham narratives. This leads to application of the salvation narrative of peace to an understanding of Christology (e.g., the peace of Christ), ecclesiology, and missiology; and then to further application of these doctrines to peacemaking.
