“Juvenile magistrates’ attitudes toward victim-offender mediation in Italy.”

Baldry, Anna C
June 4, 2015

Source: Rome, Italy: University of Rome. Typed manuscript (copy).

Baldry addresses the status of victim-offender mediation in Italy. In Italy mediation has not been incorporated formally into the legal system for adults. The juvenile justice system does permit victim-offender mediation at some stages, and some principles of restorative justice are partly incorporated into the juvenile system. Baldry’s paper presents research into the attitudes of juvenile magistrates towards victim-offender mediation, particularly when it is part of a probation order. She concludes that overall there are positive attitudes towards mediation.
