While acknowledging certain positive results of the current criminal justice system, Carey argues that correctional intervention needs a more restorative approach to repair harm to victims and communities. Specifically, modification of Community Corrections Act legislation to reflect restorative principles is advocated. To establish his argument, he reviews the current state of Community Corrections Act legislation, applies restorative principles to community corrections, suggests sample legislative wording, and indicates actions to effect these changes.
