First Central American Course on Victimology and Victim Assistance: Perceptions of a first time participant

At the invitation of the World Society of Victimology, Shireen Miles (a practitioner in victim assistance in California) went in February 2001 as a presenter to the First Central American Course on Victimology and Victim Assistance in San Salvador. In this article, she describes the many people she met at the course (some of whom have experience with victims of violent civil conflict) and the value to her of gaining a more global perspective on victimology and victim assistance.
